General Description
Ginger oil has been used for medicinal purposes by the Chinese for many complaints including rheumatism, bacterial problems, toothache, malaria, and colds and influenza. It is widely known as a digestive aid in the West, specifically for intestinal colic.

How It's Made
This oil is produced by steam distillation from the unpeeled, dried, ground root. Oleoresins used in perfume fragrances can also be created through this process.
